Need to build a temporary home for your warriors or some shelter for your guards? In this tutorial, you are shown, how to add siege tents to your maps!
In Stronghold - like in Stronghold Crusader - one can create a useful tent camp, or single tents for special purposes. Open a map in the editor window. Landscape it. Then recruit some engineers. After that, save the map, and then open it again to play it.
Now it is necessary to order the engineer to build some siege engines. Portable shields are preferred as they almost cost nothing. Place the tent where you see fit, and stop and "catch" the engineer, before he reaches the newly placed tent.
Repeat until the desired number of tents has been reached (or all the money has been spilled... hehe).
Save the map after that. Go to the 'Firefly Studios' folder of the respective game. Check the saves folder for your .sav file and rename it from .sav to .map. Now you can load the map again into the editor window or play it....
Of course tents can be placed to serve many purposes. The following example shows a pair of tents for two guards, in front of our impressive granaries. (The "Palistone Walls" look great in this...)
The two engineers nearby try to keep the list of inventories up-to-date:
