Adding Wooden Barricades

It is very possible in Stronghold 1 to create wooden barricades, and you can create them just as easily to your own personal taste.

First of all, this article uses the "Wooden Plaform" trick. If you do not already know how to do this, you can see here.

Starting with the template you created in the article linked to above, you can then create a row of wooden platforms, such as this:

To do this, you simply duplicate the process in the above article, which will create several platforms together. You can also have troops walk on the platforms, in which case you don't remove the steps pointing down to the ground on either side, so that troops can get up and down.

In this example above, I first placed the steps on the right, working accross to the left. The platform then automatically inverts itself to fit the correct place. The great thing about this type of barricade is that troops can walk across it (until destroyed of course). Troops can't walk across the second type, but it does however look much more realistic.

Barricades

You can create barricades by adding enemy spearmen to the map, and making them destroy the the platform(s). Be careful not to let them destroy too much though, to prevent this from happening:

If this does happen, it is not possible to remove it from the map, or build over it. If successful, then the wooden platform will look like this:

Now you can add more to the map, and it can look like a real barricade!

You could also keep the wall behind the barricade, in which case it should look similar to the following:

With this new found trick, there are almost endless possibilities that could help you.
